4.4 Visitor Tracking
Each Doors Open site
host is responsible for tracking the number
of visitors to their site. This may be
accommodated with a guest book that also
allows the site to track where their guests
are from and solicit comments about the
event.
5. Evaluating Your Event
The continued success of your Doors Open
event will be determined by the evaluation
reports that you complete at the end of the
event. Compile your site evaluations,
prepare your financial statement against
your budget, track your total volunteer
hours (this includes the committee hours and
site volunteer hours) and submit a report to
the Heritage Community Foundation 8 weeks
following your event.
6. Role of the Heritage
Community Foundation
The Heritage community Foundation:
- coordinates and administers the province
wide program
- organizes provincial planning meetings
- maintains the Doors Open Alberta website
- organizes the provincial marketing,
media releases and branding
- provides community resource materials
and mentorship
- provides templates for budgets,
timelines, brochures, media releases, site
surveys
- applies for provincial funding and
administers the funds
- promotes Doors Open Alberta in tourism
and heritage publications whenever possible
